RISING 2011 weekend event postponed. Find us on Facebook (Zombie Buddy Productions) to keep up to date!
In a kill-or-be-killed world, you find yourself fending off the undead as a daily routine. It's basically suicide just to gather food or find new survivors. Not only that, but the tensions are building between the smaller groups of the encampment, and rumors of murder have been spreading.
Join Zombie Buddy Productions for our second annual epic weekend-long event of RISING. RISING is the Live Action Survival Horror game you've been hearing about, and now the infection is speading! Play with friends or just other survivors trying to hold on to their lives as you fight off daunting zombies, figure out puzzles that hide secrets and loot, and kill or be eaten in the world of the RISING.
Theme: The event will take place the following day of the last event (as if there were no break in the timeline.) If you're a new player, don't worry, you'll fit right in!

FAQ's
The RISING ruleset is simple and easy to learn. The basic rundown of the rules is located here. Combat is resolved with boffer weapons and foam dart blasters such as nerf(tm) guns.
What does PC and NPC mean?
The term "PC" means Playing Character or Player Charater which means you are paying to actually play your own character for the weekend. "NPC" is a term that stands for Non-playing/non-player character. This means that you are going to play the game, but mostly as a monster or other behind the scene characters. As an NPC you will not be participating in the plot or interacting with the storyline as you will be helping to make it happen.
When does the game start and end?
The game is constantly running at an event like this. You take a break when you need one, but you will always be in game. Things you do/say are all taken in game, so if you jokingly shot your friend, you would have shot him in the game, and the damage must be taken.
What happens if my character dies?
If your character dies, then you must come to check in and register your death (takes seconds to do). After that, you will NPC as a zombie for an hour and then you may come back and check in your new character and start over.
Do my levels transfer?
Yes, as long as you did not die since you have gained levels, you may transfer them to this event. If you survive this event, you will gain 2 additional levels (1 level for the first day, and 1 level at the end of the 2nd day)
Can I buy things I might need on site?
Yes. There is a camp store located on the site, which will be in game. You must pay for any kind of real item with money and by in game trade. The store offers things such as drinks, snacks, etc. There are also boffer weapons for sale. If you wish to aquire additional armor, you may purchase shirts at the event from ZBP which are stackable and grant an additional 2 points of armor per shirt.
Can I bring my own weapons? How do bullets work in game?
Yes, as long as they are Zombie Buddy Productions approved. Unmodified foam blasters may be brought, but if you character is unable to use them, or needs to level before using them, then they can be left in your car or cabin. Foam darts may be brought, but it is heavily suggested to initial them if you want to try to get them back. "Bullets" are in game items, and a clip will be represented by a small sandwich baggie which are given out at check in. 6 darts to a bag please! Please do not bring your own, and once that clip is spent, it's spent. Once you load a gun, you may only use that clip for that gun. Collecting spent ammo is only done to recycle the darts when more "ammo" is found in game.
Boffer weapons, we highly encourage people to bring their own boffer weapon (since there isn't enough for everyone to borrow). Most latex weapons sold by Edhellen are approved for safety checks, along with most foam boffers they make. Each weapon must be saftey checked to ensure the weapon hasn't broken down. Most foam boffers that are approved of are NERO type boffers. Mind your swings! We do light taps here, not full on hits.
